Grip breaking to osoto gari Sweep from Op staning in open guard Triangle from Op standing in open guard Op in butterfly guard, arm drag to back take to lapel choke to mount...elbow on ground. Sparring
Had a successful arm bar from modified rubber guard. Instead of foot planted on hip, i had a hook in which worked out better because my lack of flexibility. So I gained "retard control" with a hook in and was able to transition to "chill dog" and remove hook to bring it up to lock for an "omoplata" attempt. Because Op was defending very well I had to transition to an arm bar which worked very well from this position.
Also learned an alternative escape from side mount where you rotate away from Op and sit out to turtle and drive back into Op.
Conditioning work done at beginning of class : calisthenics, medicine ball drills. Worked moving Op while in clinch, pivoting 180 degrees with Op in clinch, throwing knees with Op in clinch. Worked on several variations of parrying push kicks and countering with round kicks.
Open guard pass, grips at knees, walking around controllingOp's legs, dropping should pressure then bring knees in for north /south control, over hook near Op arm, grip back of collar, with other hand outside grip Op's lapel, place wrist againstOp's throat, drop down elbow to get the choke.
Triangle drill. Worked on setting up triangle by over hooking your leg to help lock it in. Then worked on some technique similar to rubber guard transition to triangle.
* this night's class was my first night at the new training site. It opened the previous night.
