Arm bar from spider guard : Op is in your spider guard, has grips on gi pants at knees, remove one hook from guard to break Op's base, under hook Op's arm at the elbow joint (a slight arm drag), keep other leg/hook planted on Op's hip an straighten leg to further disrupt Op's base, crank elbow joint to get the arm bar submission. In the case that the Op counters the above technique, destabilize Op's base with free leg, drag Op's arm and take back.

Arm bar counter when Op counters initial arm bar attempt : Op is in your spider guard, you try to get the arm bar described above, the Op defends against it, Keep on hook firmly planted in Op's hip, take other leg and grape vine the Op arm you initially tried to arm bar and gain grip on Op's wrist (make sure you grip the *wrist* and not the gi) swivel hips until you're perpendicular to Op, shoot grape vined leg through to Op's opposite side hip while maintaining grip on wrist, here you should have a very tight arm/shoulder lock which is actuated by you leg.
